Craving Italian? Then look no further then the classic Spaghetti Di Puttanesca. Born in Naples in the 20th century, this authentic Italian dish is a must try for any foodie!
Ingredients: 1 x 400g can Napolina chopped tomatoes, 2 tbsp Napolina olive oil, 1 tbsp Napolina tomato puree, 300g Napolina spaghetti, 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped, 1 red chili, finely chopped, 20g anchovies, finely chopped, 100g black olives, sliced, 30g capers, roughly chopped, 10g fresh basil, roughly chopped, 1 tsp dried oregano, salt and pepper to taste.
Serves: 4
Cook Time: 15 mins
Method:
Heat the Napolina oil in a saucepan and fry the garlic to a pale gold. Add the anchovies and cook for a few minutes, breaking them down with a spatula.
Add the Napolina tomatoes, chili flakes, olives and capers and simmer gently (uncovered) for 15 minutes.
Towards the end of cooking, taste and season if it needs it (it doesn’t always).
While the sauce is simmering, cook the Napolina spaghetti until al dente. Drain, then stir in the sauce. Top with basil and sprinkle with non-optional Parmesan.
